These works require time though. Only slowly does a slightly sharper angle or a slightly darker stroke of paint become apparent to the eye. Then, the contained simplicity that the artist achieves through a focussed exercise in controlling chaos shines through. Preserving ample vigor in these pure, fragile works is only made possible by Vanoorlé’s sensitivity for composition and aesthetics.
