In this landscape, sharp contrasts arise: the utopic versus the dystopic; the locality, specificity and materiality of a real place versus the universality, uniformity and digitality of a simulation; the historical versus the futuristic; the privileged versus the discarded; the lost versus the rebuilt; the superficial versus the multi-layered; the objectivity versus the interpretative of an image.

In her practice, Felicity Hammond explores the ways in which the urban landscape is imagined. She focuses on the complex processes of urban regeneration, in which sites are often improved at the expense of original inhabitants and buildings. Hammond shows that behind alluring advertising and digitally manipulated renders of property developments, a grim reality lurks.

For her first exhibition in Belgium, she brings together different bodies of existing work in a new installation.
